To summarize the
important technical achievements in dam construction and identify the milestone
dam projects, Chinese National Committee on Large Dams (CHINCOLD) and United
States Society on Dams (USSD) jointly organized the evaluation and selection of
the 3rd International Milestone Concrete Dam Projects.
Assessed by the Expert
panel, 4 dams gained 2/3 affirmative votes are qualified to be awarded as the
International Milestone Concrete Dams. They are Jinping I Arch Dam from China, Glen
Canyon Arch Dam from USA, Xiangjiaba Gravity Dam from China and Okutadami Gravity
Dam from Japan.
According to the Rules
for the International Milestone Projects Awards, the projects to be awarded
will be made available for public review for ten days from Feb. 20 to Mar. 1,
2022.
If any organization or
individual has any objection to the projects to be awarded, they must submit a
formal written document to the award department of CHINCOLD. The objection must
be submitted within the publicity period and provide necessary supporting
documents. If the objection is overdue or anonymous, it will not be accepted.
If the name of the objector needs to be kept private, please indicate this in
the objection documents.
