On
January 17, the joint venture of "CGGC - China
Construction Third Engineering Bureau" led by CGGC received the notice
of winning the bid for the Construction of Diversion Tunnel and Access Tunnel
for Hsipaw Hydropower Project in Myanmar, which continued to consolidate the
foundation of the Company's rolling development in the market of Myanmar. The
project is located in Hsipaw, Shan State, Myanmar, with an installed capacity
of 210MW. The work content of this bid section is mainly the 746 m-long
diversion tunnel and the 402 m-long access tunnel.

Since
2013, driven by the “Belt and Road” Initiative, China has become Myanmar's
largest trading partner and major source of investment, and Myanmar is an
important investment destination and project contracting market for China in
ASEAN. As the leading enterprise in the "Belt and Road" construction
and the "Ten Successful Enterprises Entering ASEAN", CGGC also considers
Myanmar an important market overseas.
Since entering the market of Myanmar in 2005, CGGC has
successively undertaken a number of key national power projects in Myanmar,
such as Yeywa and Shwegyin Hydropower Stations, realizing the dual-wheel driven
and coordinated development of project contracting and investment, making
outstanding contributions to Myanmar's economic and social development and
China-Myanmar economic and trade cooperation. At present, the Company has
completed 9 projects in Myanmar and 6 projects are under construction,
involving hydropower, power transmission and transformation, highway, cement
and other fields. The project of Mandalay Cement Plant Project with 5,000
tons per day invested and developed by the Company and its partners in Myanmar
has a total value of USD300 million.
The
China-Myanmar community with a shared future is the third community with a
shared future built by China and Southeast Asian countries after the same of
China and Cambodia and China and Laos. CGGC will stand at a new starting point
of China-Myanmar relations, meet the strategic development needs of Myanmar,
continue to participate in the construction and investment of energy
infrastructure in Myanmar, and contribute to the bilateral mutually beneficial
cooperation along the “Belt and Road”.
