The second CHINCOLD Workshop and Technical Tour will be organized in China on 27 Sep. to 3 Oct. 2011

“World Declaration on Hydropower and Dams for African Sustainable Development”, initiated by ICOLD and joined by the World Energy Council, the African Union, UPDEA, ICID and IHA, was launched during ICOLD 80th Anniversary in 2008 in Paris. As one of national committees, Chinese National Committee on Large Dams (CHINCOLD) would like to contribute to promote the World Declaration and help African countries in water resources and hydropower development. The CHINCOLD Workshop and Technical Tour serves exactly such a purpose.

The CHINCOLD Workshop and Technical Tour has received since its initiation passionate concern and energetic support from African ICOLD national committees, CHINCOLD member units, and other relevant organizations. With the concerned efforts of all parties, the 1st CHINCOLD Workshop and Technical Tour was successfully organized on 1-7 November 2010; and 9 African experts from different countries joined the event. As a follow-up, CHINCOLD would like to continue to organize the 2nd Workshop and Technical Tour for African delegates on 27 September to 3 October 2011. This event will be combined with International Symposium on Modern Technologies and Long-term Behavior of Dams sponsored by CHINCOLD and other relevant organizations, to be held in Zhengzhou, China on 27-29 September 2011. Lectures, project visit and discussion with experts from government departments, investors, designers, contractors, etc. in the field of water resources and hydropower development will be arranged for African delegates.
