After 8 years of construction, Jin'anqiao Hydropower Station on Jinsha River with a total installed capacity of 2400MW (4 × 600MW), invested by Hanergy Holdings Group Co. Ltd, was formally integrated into the Grid on March 27th, 2011. Jin'anqiao hydropower Station, the fifth grade of the eight cascade hydropower stations planned at "Middle Reaches of Jinsha River Hydropower Planning Report” approved by the State Council, is an extra large hydropower station. Currently, it is the largest hydropower station invested by private enterprises and is also the first extra-large hydropower station integrated into the grid on Jinsha River. After the upstream Longtou reservoir is completed, it will generate about 13TWh per year and will be one of the backbone power plants for the country’s strategic objective of "Electricity Transmission from West to East" and "Electricity Transmission from Yunnan to Guangdong".
