On Feb.16^th -18^th 2011, the  International Conference on “the role of dams and reservoirs in the management of water resources and adjustment to climatic change” was hold in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, which was organized by the Dominican Committee on Large dams (DOMCOLD) with the support of the National Institute of Water Resources (INDRHI) and The Development of Foundation (FUNGLODE).

Dr. JIA Jinsheng, President of ICOLD and Vice President and Secretary General of CHINCOLD, was invited to attend the Conference and delivered a keynote speech on "Dams and reservoirs in the management of water resources”. Other important participants attending the Conference included Mr. Cassio Viotti, Honorary President of ICOLD, Dr. Jose Manuel Armenteros, President of DOMCOLD, etc. Over 100 people attended the conference, including representatives from Dominican Republic, China, Brazil, Mexico, Spain, USA, etc.
