Miel I Dam, 189m high, was the highest RCC dam in the world and its height exceeded by 50% the next highest existing RCC dam at the time it was constructed. Due to the PVC face membrane, it has the lowest recorded seepage of any RCC dam in terms of litres/second per metre height of dam. The project is owned by ISAGEN S.A. E.S.P. (Colombian electricity authority).
