Concrete faced rockfilll dam (CFRD) is the most competitive dam type with great potential in dam engineering. for further promote the technical progress of concrete faced rockfill dam (include earth core rockfill dam) and to update the state of the art of rockfill engineering, particularly, to share the experience on design, construction and performance of recent very high CFRD dams, Chinese Committee on Large dams (CHINCOLD) and Brazilian Committee on Large Dams (CBDB) will jointly sponsor the International Symposiums on High Rockfill Dam by turns in China and Brazil.
