Empresa de Generación Eléctrica San Gabán (EGESG) has awarded consultancy work for a project to optimize output at the 110-MW San Gabán II hydro plant.
According to BNamericas, the winner of the 180-day contract was Consorcio Hidráulico Macusani (Changjiang Institute of Survey, Planning, Design and Research-Asesores Ingenieros Proyectistas). The other bidder was Consorcio Presa Ninahuisa (Jaime Pacheco Laura-HZP Consultores).
Hidráulico Macusani will draft the definitive study and prepare a technical file of a dam at 4,500 m above sea level in the Ninahuisa river basin.
The San Gaban II project, on the San Gaban River, was completed in 1999. The planned infrastructure aims to improve flow to the plant and, according to preliminary information, the 31-m-high, 8-m-wide (at the crown) concrete-faced rockfill dam would hold 22 million m3 of water.
Offers to supervise the consultancy work are due next week.
